Our Platform

  • At Amanda Pusczek’s core is a belief that everyone deserves safe and affordable housing. It’s more than shelter—it’s a foundational cornerstone for opportunity, health, and security. Yet too many families are priced out, pushed out, or left out. Our campaign is committed to bold action that ensures housing is a human right, not a luxury.

We’re fighting for policies that deliver lasting change, built around four key pillars:

    • Expanding Affordable Housing Access by investing in affordable housing construction and preservation starting at the Federal level, supporting nonprofit and community land trust models, and expanding incentivize inclusive zoning and mixed-income neighborhoods

    • Preventing Homelessness & Displacement by increasing funding for emergency and transitional housing, strengthening eviction prevention.

    • Protecting Renters & Homeowners by fighting for stronger tenant protections and rent stabilization. Holding corporate landlords accountable, and reinvigorating pathways to homeownership for working families and first-time buyers.

    • Revitalizing Communities with Equity by reinvesting in underserved neighborhoods, modernizing public housing infrastructure, and ensuring land development benefits residents, not just real estate investors.

  • Immigrants are the backbone of America’s story—builders, dreamers, caregivers, creators, and innovators. Amanda Pusczek believes that our immigration system should reflect the best of our values: welcoming, just, and built for opportunity. It's time to move beyond fear and division toward policies rooted in respect, inclusion, and economic strength.

Our plan focuses on four key priorities to uplift immigrant communities and strengthen our country as a whole:

    • Empowering Immigrant Entrepreneurs & Workers by removing barriers to small business ownership for immigrants, expanding access to capital, training, and mentorship, and defending fair wages and worker protections across all industries.

    • Attracting & Retaining Global Talent by expanding pathways for high-skilled workers and students; reversing outdated and restrictive policies, reinvigorating work visa programs to meet workforce needs including areas of science, medicine, and tech, and embracing immigrants as essential contributors to economic growth allowing for increased tax revenue and strengthening of social services.

    • Supporting Families & Community Stability by accelerating the legal immigration and naturalization process by increasing judge appointments to address COVID era backlogs, prioritizing keeping families together and ending cruel separations, and reversing immigration policies that place international refugees at risk.

    • Investing in Integration & Opportunity by funding language access and citizenship preparation programs, support immigrant-serving schools and community organizations, and promoting civic engagement and leadership in immigrant communities.

  • Every child deserves a world-class education—no matter their zip code. Amanda Pusczek believes that education is a right, not a privilege, and that strong public schools are the foundation of a strong democracy. It’s time to fully fund our schools, support our educators, and give every student the tools they need to succeed. Our plan focuses on four core priorities to transform public education for all.

    • Fully Funding Public Schools by increasing federal and state investment in K-12 public education, ensuring equitable funding so all schools—urban, suburban, and rural—thrive, and investing in safe, modern school facilities and classroom technology.

    • Supporting and Valuing Educators by raising teacher pay and provide strong benefits and job security, funding ongoing professional development and mentorship programs, and ensuring classrooms are fully staffed with counselors, librarians, and support staff.

    • Expanding Student Opportunity by providing universal pre-K and expand early childhood education, protecting and enhancing programs in the arts, STEM, and vocational training, and guaranteeing free meals, school supplies, and mental health support for every child.

    • Protecting Public Education from Privatization by opposing the diversion of public funds to private and charter schools, holding all schools accountable to high standards and transparency, and defending the role of public education in building civic knowledge and unity.

  • Our elders have built the communities we cherish today. Amanda Pusczek believes that growing older should come with care, respect, and the resources to thrive—not fear or neglect. It’s time to ensure that every senior can age with dignity, independence, and the support they deserve. Our plan focuses on four key commitments to honor and uplift older Americans.

    • Securing Healthcare and Long-Term Care by protecting and expanding Medicare, including coverage for dental, vision, and hearing, increasing funding for home- and community-based services; this includes supporting H.R. 2013 which would enable OT (occupational therapy) as an in-home care and H.R. 2853 ECHA (Expanding Care in the Home Act) which has been stalled in committee since 2023, and supporting caregivers with fair wages, training, and respite resources.

    • Ensuring Affordable and Accessible Housing by expanding affordable senior housing options and aging-in-place initiatives, improving accessibility standards and retrofit programs for older adults, and preventing elder homelessness and displacement through housing protections.

    • Ensuring Economic Security by defending and strengthening Social Security with no cuts—ever, supporting pension protections and retirement savings for all workers, and tackling age discrimination in the workforce and promote lifelong employment opportunities.

    • Fostering Connection and Inclusion by investing in programs that reduce senior isolation and expand community engagement, promoting intergenerational housing, learning, and volunteer programs, ensuring digital inclusion through technology access and training for older adults.

  • Every person—no matter who they are or who they love—deserves the freedom to live openly, authentically, and safely. Amanda Pusczek stands proudly with the LGBTQIA2S+ community and is committed to protecting rights, expanding equality, and fighting back against hate in all forms. Our campaign’s LGBTQIA2S+ policy agenda is rooted in justice, inclusion, the power of unity, and a plan to make equality real for everyone.

    • Protecting LGBTQIA2S+ Rights Under the Law by passing the Equality Act to enshrine anti-discrimination protections nationwide, codifying into law marriage equality and parental rights for LGBTQIA2S+ families, and fighting against harmful anti-trans and anti-queer legislation at every level.

    • Ensuring Inclusive, Affirming Healthcare guaranteeing access to safe and affordable gender-affirming care and mental health services, creating a provider training program to deliver competent, respectful care to LGBTQIA2S+ patients, and working to pass a nationwide ban on so-called “conversion therapy.”

    • Ending Violence and Discrimination by expanding hate crime enforcement and support for survivors, and increasing accessibility to resources for LGBTQIA2S+ youth, especially those experiencing homelessness.

    • Building a Culture of Belonging by providing funding for LGBTQIA2S+ centers, arts programs, and community initiatives, and supporting inclusive education that teaches respect and diversity.

  • Our veterans have given their all in service to our nation. Amanda Pusczek believes it’s our duty to ensure they return to a country that honors their sacrifice not just in words—but in action. That means care, opportunity, and lifelong support. Our veterans deserve more than gratitude—they deserve policy that puts them first.

    • Ensuring World-Class Healthcare for Every Veteran by strengthening and fully fund the VA healthcare system, expanding mental health services, including trauma and PTSD support, and ensuring timely, accessible care regardless of location or discharge status.

    • Working to End Veteran Homelessness by increasing affordable housing options and transitional support, expanding HUD-VASH programs and rapid rehousing initiatives, providing wraparound services for at-risk veterans and their families.

    • Creating Pathways to Education and Employment by strengthening and modernizing the GI Bill for today’s economy, investing in skills training, apprenticeships, and career placement, and supporting veteran-owned businesses and entrepreneurship.

    • Caring for Military Families and Communities by expanding caregiver support and family counseling resources, improving access to child care, housing, and health services for military families, and ensuring dignity in retirement, including pensions and long-term care.

  • Across Alabama, far too many children face the daily reality of hunger—whether in Birmingham, the Black Belt, or small towns in between. Amanda Pusczek believes that every child deserves a full stomach, a focused mind, and a fair chance to thrive. It’s time to make feeding our kids a priority—no matter their ZIP code, background, or circumstance. Our plan is rooted in dignity, compassion, and smart investment—ensuring every child in Alabama gets the nourishment they need to learn, grow, and succeed. We ended childhood hunger during the COVID-19 pandemic. Why would we ever want to go back?

    • Universal Free School Meals to include guaranteed free breakfast and lunch for every student in public schools—without applications or stigma. Modernization and support for school nutrition programs in rural, urban, and underfunded districts. Expansion of after-school and summer meal programs to keep kids fed year-round.

    • We will work to increase access to SNAP and WIC, especially in underserved counties, cut red tape for working families struggling to afford groceries, support local food banks, churches, and mutual aid groups on the front lines of hunger relief, end lunch debt policies that shame or punish children, provide weekend and holiday meal support for kids in food-insecure households, and equip schools and educators to recognize hunger and connect families with resources.

    • Feeding Kids by Supporting Local Farmers by re-instating farm-to-school partnerships across Alabama, invest in regional food systems that connect farmers with school districts, and promote community gardening, food literacy, and fresh produce access in every community.
